The Culture Pulse Audit
A Culture Reflection Tool for Purpose-Driven Leaders
Culture isn’t just what’s written in your handbook, policies or mission statements; it’s the invisible water your team swims in every day.
It shows up in the pace you set, the ways people interact, and the unspoken rules and daily signals your team gets about what's professional, what’s rewarded, what’s ignored, what’s tolerated, and what’s unsafe to express.
In most workplaces, the culture’s “default settings” are rooted in colonial, capitalistic, and supremacy defaults. This tool is designed to help you notice what water your team is swimming in today, not the culture you aspire to and the values you deeply hold, but the one that’s actually lived. It’s not about scoring or perfection. It’s about noticing.
Approach it with honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to see what’s good, what’s emerging, what’s confronting, and what might need tending.

This tool is based on work by Tema Okun and others on white supremacy culture, adapted for purpose-driven, growing organizations.
Use it for your own reflection, invite your team into the conversation, or partner with us to build and nourish your diverse teams, establish trauma-informed equity practices and policies, and train and empower your leaders to create a culture of psychological safety, inclusion and belonging.
