the BOLD Allyship
Project
Conversations, Storytelling & Actions with White, Cis-Het Men Committed to care, justice and collective liberation.
On a quest to inspire, educate and activate more white,
cis-het men to become bold allies through giving them examples, stories and lessons from other men.
Impact:

The Bold Allyship Project was founded with the recognition that allyship is not merely a title, it's a verb; it's a transformative force that has the power to dismantle oppressive systems and create a more equitable, loving and just society.

Goals: To educate, inspire, and empower individuals to become bold allies. To foster a sense of community and solidarity among advocates for social justice.
Objectives: To provide educational resources, facilitate dialogue and collaboration, and advocate for systemic change.
Values: collaboration, courage, community
, integrity, continual learning, and impact.
An adjacent quest is to ignite a sense of community, a sense of togetherness and a sense of hope to many who are engaged in empowered self-advocacy, collective advocacy, and perhaps feeling like they're carrying the burden alone.

A personal confition, this is my way to transmute, compost my frustration, my anger at men. The amount of imes I've repeated "yoou need to pull your waight", you need to hold your self, yoou need to do he wrok. this is my way to show myself and others tthat many men are pulling thrrough, are doing the work. Are in the messy middle and trying to figure it out. This is my own way to reecycle it itoo light, and hope, and community of leaders leading by example fo rother men to show up, to unlearn, re-learn, and . I commit to shoowinng up in devotion to hold your highst good, to see youo in youor humanity, to push your edges, teach and show you more.

I used to be a teacher in my relationships with men until 2023. I felt burnt out. The relationship was not generative; it was a one-way emotional labour and teaching met with resistance and insistence.

Advancing Equity
These individuals often experience systemic advantages and have inherent societal privileges due to their alignment with dominant norms and power structures. They may have easier access to opportunities, resources, and social recognition.

Privilege refers to unearned advantages, benefits or immunity granted that certain groups receive based on their social identity, such as race, gender, sexual orientation, or ability.

-
Provide Examples: Offer specific examples of how privilege manifests in society. For instance, white privilege can be seen in the disproportionate representation of white individuals in positions of power, higher wages and employment opportunities for white people compared to people of color, and the greater likelihood of white individuals being treated with respect and dignity by institutions such as law enforcement and healthcare.
-
Intersectionality: Highlight the concept of intersectionality, which acknowledges that individuals may hold multiple social identities (e.g., race, gender, sexuality, class) that intersect and influence their experiences of privilege and oppression. Explain that while white cis-het men may experience privilege based on their race and gender, they may still face disadvantages based on other factors such as socioeconomic status or disability.

In patriarchal societies, individuals who conform to traditional gender roles and expressions, particularly men, may experience privilege over those who do not conform or identify outside the gender binary. This can manifest in various forms of social, economic, and political advantages.

who leverage their privilege to challenge systemic injustices, amplify marginalized voices, and advocate for positive change.
