Embracing Courage, ourselves and each other
Equity is a call to reinvent cultures, systems, and the path to create a world where everyone can belong, thrive and create from their whole and authentic self.
Few words on the state of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion:
-
Policies VS Reality: While most of the laws and company policies support equity, diversity and inclusion, most organizations have achieved EDI in the lower level of organizations, while the higher levels remain with little to no diversity. Equity is the answer if organizations desire to be in the innovative space, to be leading other organizations into the future, Equity is a human right to undo the harm of many active systems of inequalities.
-
Collective responsibility: Oftentimes, EDI committees are run by the same groups who are underrepresented at the top. Self-advocacy and self-responsibility are important, yet by doing so, organizations continue to leave the burden on the disadvantaged to change the system. Creating an eco-chamber and upholding the status quo. The call to embrace equity is a call to be proactive rather than reactive, a call to innovate rather than keep the status quo, and a call to make this everyone's responsibility.
-
While having a cognitive understanding of a social issue can help tremendously, it is through understanding our unconscious bias and the trauma that those social issues have on all of us, that we can move forward with a deeper understanding of ourselves, each other and our environments. This is needed to create an environment based on an ecology of thriving where everyone can feel safe, seen and heard.
-
Taking initiative: There's no denying the loud or insidious inequalities, the passing comments, the dynamics, the closed doors, glass ceilings, imposter syndrome and the internalized beliefs this chronic disempowerment has on each individual impacted by systems of inequalities. This is a yes and conversation, both on the individuals to take initiative and on the organization to create a trauma-informed equitable environment. (This is Amal's Zone of Genius)
Let's create a more inclusive and equitable world, together and for each other.
Talking about diversity, equality and inclusion can be uncomfortable. Amal delivers her keynotes in an engaging, energizing and educational way, a space where your team can learn, evolve, and genuinely care about everyone's thriving. Your team will leave inspired, energized and equipped with tools to embrace equity, courage, themselves and each other.
BENEFITS TO YOUR TEAM:
-
Have a good laugh, tear up, learn, open their hearts and mind, connect and feel inspired to take action.
-
Develop their capacity, personal tools and courage to listen, learn and have difficult conversations. Busting down the echo chambers of our beliefs and unconscious patterns is needed more than ever so that we can create an environment where everyone can truly belong, thrive and feel empowered to create and advance in the organization.
-
Understand the reason we don't call out discrimination, draw attention to bias and seek out inclusion, their unconscious patterns by understanding their nervous system (fight, flight, freeze and fawn) to employ a better understanding of themselves, and how they view and interact with each other. Amal offers inner reflection, outer reflection, and practical solutions and action steps to move forward to embrace equity, diversity and inclusion.
Amal custom-designs her keynotes based on your needs, industry, event theme and audience.

Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Amal moved to Canada in 2013, 24 years old and fully covered from head to toe. She knew she wanted to be a public speaker since she was 19, at a time when she was still in Saudi Arabia, in a fixed marriage, covered head to toe, and her voice was considered forbidden to be heard in public. She took the stage for the first time in 2016 and has been public speaking across Canada at small to medium events and her largest event of 2500+ audience members in 2019. Amal in Action

Amal delivered her riveting and emotional keynote address and captured our group’s undivided attention. Our attendees were engaged throughout the event, as Amal asked participants to reflect on their own lives and experiences. I reached out to Amal to be the keynote speaker for our virtual NextGen Speech Competition because I believed her courageous story would be very well aligned with our theme of defining moments. The group left feeling inspired and ready to seek out their next defining moment. Following the event, I received numerous messages from my colleagues about how much they enjoyed the evening and Amal’s message. We will certainly keep Amal in mind for future workshops and events!

Amal’s presence is raw, powerful and captivating. Amal was able to highlight our vision and theme of the event throughout her story and to drive the message back to the audience in a creative and purposeful way. The event was held online, therefore, making it more challenging to keep the audience engaged. However, this was no match for Amal because of her incredible presence with the audience! Her story really resonated with our audience and we were able to see this through the positive feedback received during and after the event. Through our social media analytics, we discovered that Amal’s posts generated good content interactions amongst our social media audience. She was the energy and inspiration that our event needed. We would be honoured to welcome back Amal for future events!

I've seen Amal as a keynote speaker & facilitator at multiple events and workshops. I believe it's her authenticity and true vulnerability that allows her to so effectively connect with her audience. She speaks from the heart, using her own life story and experiences to inspire others in a way that doesn't feel forced, and that captivates the room. Her genuine desire to uplift others to live their best lives and to be courageous in going beyond boundaries is weaved through all of her work.
I've taken something different and special away each time I've heard Amal speak, and find her to be a powerful and genuine leader at a time when people, particularly women, need it most.
